In 1629, Richelieu went to Montauban, accompanied by some Capuchin Brothers namely a religious order of the Franciscan membership. Thus, the Capuchin monastery was set up and three years later, the first mass was celebrated in honour of the King Louis XIII.

The French Revolution took place and turn everything upside down therefore in 1972, the monastery became a jail and then a wool spinning mill.

In 1808, Pope Pie VII restored the diocese and opened the seminary seventeen years later. Over the next century, during the two World Wars, it became a military hospital. Finally, it was occupied by the St Théodard secondary school for thirty years until 1998.

But whatever its function, its vocation has always been the welcome and the service. It seemed the obvious solution to occur : to turn it into a hotel.
